Certified to Blow Your Mind: How to Manage eLearning Certificates


We’re probably all familiar with certificates of completion and accomplishment, your most expensive one probably being your diploma from university (although my personal favorite is from the 5th-grade talent show). Even into adulthood, we love a good certificate. These can sometimes be confused with certification for employee training which verifies you are certified to perform a job or in a specific skill set where certificates verify that you have completed a course.

I recently saw a cool example of a Supervisor Effectiveness course from Allan Interactions as part of the ASTD elearning certificate program. It’s just a great example on how learning a dry topic such as compliance, yet a sensitive/serious topic such as dealing with employee concerns can be done in way that is not intimidating, is actually entertaining, and effective.
