Twitter Conference Ideas

Twitter has become a pretty great tool to help with socializing at conferences. There is also an interesting effect that people who are not attending still hear quite a bit about the conference and have some level of tangential participation. Great use of the Twitter stream!

Video streaming brings events to a much wider audience

Clive on Learning

The Learning Pool Public Sector Learning Conference 2010, held last week in London, was an impressively-organised event that seems to have met with an enthusiastic response from the 150 or so paying attendees. By all traditional measures for face-to-face conferences, this was a success. But much more noteworthy was the virtual attendance of thousands of additional interested parties courtesy of the video streaming facility which the organisers provided.

Opening Pandora's box

Those of us who frequently present at conferences also expose ourselves to live video streaming for hidden audiences worldwide. I'm very comfortable with being recorded, live streamed, tweeted and even live blogged if it will improve students' chances and enrich their learning.

TV very much alive for learning professionals

Last night I tuned in to a live stream of the second episode of LearningNow TV , a monthly one-hour news magazine for learning professionals. It''s not a conference, not a webinar, not a magazine - it''s something new and refreshing.

One Step Behind

eLearning 24-7

Streaming to your Television. If there was ever a technology that is emerging and continues to do is – its streaming. I’m not talking about viewing online streaming video, I am talking about actually viewing video or whatever on your television. Take a look at the tabletop boxes that exist today in the space of streaming from the net to your television, and you shouldn’t be surprised on the players (no pun attended) that see this as the next big thing.
