I'd like to follow up on my last post and also weigh in on the question of investment in formal training and informal learning. Jack Welch used a much softer and holistic approach at GE, where, as we now know, there was a strong emphasis on informal communication and bottom-up creativity, aiming at creating a learning culture. How could informal learning have been encouraged?
