She now runs her own consultancy - Academic Tribe -which offers training and professional development for educators. I also met George for the first time at the Barcelona PLE event.

But I guess it's employers, not employees, paying the bills for corporate e-learning consultants, and they wanna hear what they wanna hear. It was interesting to read this because when I was writing about a PLE really also supporting my work - I didn't think of it in the context of ownership of the work product.

A PLE can be messy. The training doesnt teach what the participants want or need (failure to consult with actual learners while designing the program). Forget about it. e-Learning should be all neat and tied up in a nice wrapper with a Next button that moves you through a content checklist and a great assessment at the end.
