A PLE that is 'inside the enterprise' is a contradiction in terms.

Occupying a place on the continuum somewhere between a VLE and a PLE, an ILE is an informal learning environment that a facilitator manages on behalf of a group of learners. Not to mention blogs, wikis, discussion forums and social bookmarks. Unlike a PLE, an ILE is communal. Conversely, if someone passes the assessment because they already have the knowledge, what’s the problem? A touch dramatic, isn’t it?

This week we looked at Social Networks. Here are some thoughts on this topic, especially thoughts around social networks for learning. Starting with Social Networking was a blessing and a curse. Social networks have a tendency to be a bit messy. Virginia Yonkers told us - I would like to know how to manage the information flows in social networks. It sort of feels like a classroom with too much noise and side conversations.
