What always stuns me are vendors who state they know what their learners want, but in reality have no clue, because they themselves do not see the technology and its usage among the masses. In the iPad, there are quite a few products – other apps – that include Dropbox. Social learning takes on a whole new meaning.

While their Slideshark app for the iPad is nifty, it is not the only product that showcases PPT and is free. Browser support includes Chrome, Opera (extremely rare) and Safari on the iPad. The pro version is really geared towards instructional designers and e-learning developers. SCORM and assessment tool. #4

The two biggest negatives IMO, is that it just isn’t robust enough for e-learning developers and its whole focus on PPT into converting to a course doesn’t help. But, from an e-learning developer standpoint, the thought of using a template is the same as painting with numbers. Yeah, people love it.

Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. As in other e-learning markets, vendors seem bent on staying with smartphones for RCAT and not focusing nor utilizing the capabilities of tablets – especially iPad/iPad2 and to a latter degree Android.
