The format of the audio file is important because only Flash Video (FLV) files can be used for syncing events to audio. There is something wrong when a free and open source product like Audacity can do it, yet a product that costs hundreds of dollars cannot. Frankly, I am a fan of it, but if you are going this route than offer the following: Multiple tracks of video – rather than a track or two. Best of all, they are cheap to buy.

All you do is open it and then you can pick a color from any part of your computer screen. Audacity is an open source audio editor. Format Factory lets you convert media from one format to another. I don’t use it as much as I used to now that Articulate’s Studio ‘09 provides a video encoder. Color Schemer. Format Factory.

It looks like it’s time to open up the wallet and start purchasing software upgrades. For Studio 09, Articualte added Articulate Video Encoder ‘09. This tool converts video files to FLV for inclusion in courses. It works fine, I just prefer Flash Video Encoder.
