For me, Twitter is a great tool in my personal life and also a fantastic workplace tool. One can also post their Twitter feeds in courses, web pages, corporate blogs, etc. I have followed sessions at elearning conferences and even had several tweeps there surprised that I was not physically in attendance, but was so involved in the session's conversation (backchannel). I having been using Twitter for several years now and still loving it.

Informal learning: Why it matters to a business


What the employer has to do is to develop a goal-oriented eLearning strategy for employees to follow, and make sure they know how to close performance gaps without adversely affecting the objectives of the company. In such a situation, a fully equipped learning management system is a great tool to have, especially to help on board the new employees.
