There are dozens of free audio plugins available on the net, so why aren’t screen capturing/recording vendors offering the ability for the end user to add them? There is something wrong when a free and open source product like Audacity can do it, yet a product that costs hundreds of dollars cannot. Flash vs. HTML5.

Just in the past two years the per license cost of authoring tools has skyrocketed. Long has tools such as Studio and Captivate been on the higher side, the same can be said for vendors such as Rapid Intake and dominKnow. Simply put, one vendor has over 200 Flash-based templates in their product. Another vendor I spoke with, is offering 80 templates. Other vendors are falling suit. The advantage of course, is cost. There is no additional cost. It is the only e-learning solution that I know of, that offers it.
