Low Cost LMS - Help Needed

Tony Karrer

I received an inquiry about the need for a low cost LMS solution and I've not had time to help this person with answers. We have roughly 500 learners and would use the LMS for mainly tracking and registration of ILT courses, communication (possibly through message boards), and posting of class materials. I have not had much luck with open source LMS programs, mainly because of technical limitations on our part. costs that can exceed license costs.

Review of ASTD International Trade Expo

eLearning 24-7

I would estimate that there was a 60-40 split, still instructor led driven, but even a significant number of the ILT vendors were offering subsets or capabilities to turn their ILT into online via webinars or online courses. They see ILT as the only way.

eLearning 24-7

LMSs/LCMS/CMS/learning platforms in commercial and open space continued their presence. I have seen continued interest and downloads for open source AR tool kits. Augmented reality opens those doors.
