I want to make something very clear – Moodle and other open source LMSs, Learning Portals, CMSs, etc. APIs and mashups – which is really can expand Moodle to the next level of learning. You still have to purchase seats for that content and that will cost. are NOT out of the box solutions.

I’m glad to report that Litmos, a Lite LMS vendor, has dropped any additional cost for more storage, if you go over your included storage. While they still offer the LMS as we all know it, and its “learning&# approach, they are really driving into the TM space. between end users, whether via groups or not.

Revenues across the board are up, profit margins are healthy and competition is on-going (always a good thing). Illogical – I often see systems that add features that seem as though they tossed a bunch of ideas on a wall and whatever stuck up there, went into their platform. The LMS market is strong. Yes, you get the card or however it is built-in, but you still need a service to use it – and 4G costs are high, especially when it comes to data plans. If you as the customer want to create your own API/Mashup or find one on the net and want to integrate it into your paid LMS, the vendor will charge you. They will argue it is time and labor costs for the person doing it. There is a cost there, and time/labor on the side of the vendor’s person. Mobile Learning and Tablets.
