I’ll be the first to admit, that I was not a big fan of the previous versions of the Plateau system. After viewing the Plateau TMS, my concerns in one area have been eliminated, in others, not so much. Plateau LMS is a Talent Management System, made up of four modules. Plateau Learning. Plateau Performance.

Think about what the core of the activity is, and what the online version would look like. People get to a point of plateau with their skills, and I’d love to see more of an emphasis on how to move people beyond that. JULIE DIRKSEN: It often costs a lot to build games. Instead we should ask: “how would I do that online?”

Your content still needs to be valuable enough to justify the cost. For one thing, you need a whole new piece of software (an LRS ) that is separate from your LMS and is going to cost you more money. And getting your LMS to talk to that LRS, which you probably thought was necessary, will also cost you money.

A lot of great products out there this year, new updates and latest versions; new companies, new services and just some real innovation. Big Dog (Saba, SumTotal, Plateau, Cornerstone OnDemand, Learn.com). Learn.com offered some robust SL capabilities, but you have to pay for one of their premium versions to have it. Categories.

I am projecting that by the end of 2012, you will see HRIS features come into play, but more so as an additional cost module. They offer a SaaS version, but that is fee based. They have a freebie version which has an appropriate number of feature sets, then they have paid versions for individual and organization.

At one time a true freebie – they still offer a stripped down version, their new fee based system provides enough oomph to make anyone go “Wow” Features include: The standards – i.e. my 90/10, whereas 90% of the features are the same in the majority of systems in the space. Data warehouse (additional cost).
