Beginning with objectives for what learners should take away and then demonstrates in their performance, to the design process and finally the software used to build courseware always determine the instructional yield at the end. At one point I ordered up a truly engaging interactive and the developer with whom I worked finally resorted to a mash up of Flash squeezed into an Articulate shell to create the most creative piece to come out of the that shop.

We also are seeing a Shift in eLearning from Pure Courseware towards Reference Hybrids. This is somewhat like Authoring in eLearning 2.0 / Add-ins & Mash-ups and Typepad Widgets - A Sign of Things to Come in eLearning Authoring / Developement. In five years, I would expect us to be building much less SCORM courseware and much more Wiki-like content (web pages) with some interactive exercises, simulations, etc.

Authoring in eLearning 2.0 / Add-ins & Mash-ups Wow, what a great list from 2006, I'm glad I have that saved somewhere. ;) So how about in here's a random list of things from 2007: My 10 year old son edited Wikipedia - A Fourth Grader Wikipedia Update and added value. and unless you innovate ( Innovators' Dilemma in Learning/eLearning ) you are going to fall prey to alternatives be it do-it-yourself learning or start-ups. The Big Question is back.
