It is still course driven – you create crummy courses, you get crummy responses on online learning. Questionmark. I still think though that assessment tools like Questionmark may not be as useful in say 10 years. Where was the place I could test and try?

Authoring tools continued to be a mish-mash, with many continuing to forget what their number one goal truly is – creating content/courses. I am a personal fan of Questionmark, which is in the latter group, but the UI needs a major update ( I am told it is on their roadmap for 2021). I know it seems odd.

Assessment tools including Online Testing Tools (even online proctoring) (ProProfs, ClassMarker, Questionmark). You get items such as a course verification tool (ensuring that all coding is correct and your course does not have any errors), create videos tool (example: Camtasia) and the list goes on. But are you aware of these?

Questionmark has an iPad and iPhone app, but for whatever reason, if you type in “quiz&# or “assessment&# , they do not show up. You – yourself – can go and have a company create an app for you for around $500. For example, you can create “HD&# apps for the iPad. Or quiz assessment. Bottom Line.

The answer to the question, of course, is that it depends on what you are trying to create. I worked for several years with a UK tool called Accelerator and experienced first hand how easy it was to work with others to share assets and learning objects and to work together on creating and maintaining materials.

I love Questionmark, its a wonderful product and it can use a “connector” to integrate into your learning platform or system. Cannot upload courses/content created by another content authoring tool. As a result, it made sense to create one more survey, with one question. Yes, it has a mobile component too.

In the 1980s came TenCore, Wicat, Microtext (in the UK, for the BBC Micro) and (modesty does not preclude me from mentioning) one that I created myself called ProCAL. First (back in the 60s I think) we had Plato and, to the best of my knowledge, that was it.
