The hidden audience effect

Learning with 'e's

It must have been a very long day for the kids, but they performed very well, and were very entertaining and raised a few laughs too. In effect, S'cool Radio is taking a similar approach to Dave Mitchell's Quadblogging concept but developing it in another direction. What both projects have in common is their capitalisation on the 'hidden audience' effect. Performance levels are raised as extra effort is made.

What students need

Although grades matter, more important still is the feedback students receive on their work and performance, and the interventions that teachers can make to support those they see struggling. One MIS which was created by RM Education , enables teachers to see at a glance, not only a student's current performance, but their past progress and potential trajectory. Not through the kind of elearning of the 1990s but via the explosion of online communities which effectively democratise the way we learn. My understanding from documentaries, journals and books (mostly my partners for her psychology degree) is that without assistance and guidance a child will not naturally (or infomally) learn to talk, eat or walk. Until awareness is created, change (learning something is a change) will not be sustainable (actually performing what I learned).
