Pedagogy is (or really should be) about creating spaces and opportunities that are conducive to good learning. Yet it is not as clear cut as the binary might suggest.

Next came the institutional versions, the xMOOCs, which borrowed the 'free at the point of delivery' open and online model but emphasised formal assessment and accreditation (which is clearly where the money is). Quasi versions of open online learning already existed, such as the incredibly popular video based Khan Academy content.

The colours of the pens on earlier versions were not as important as the place you located them. Anyone who has used previous versions of interactive whiteboards will know that in many cases, only one person can use the touch surface at a time. A pen placed in the black pen socket printed black no matter what colour it was.
