That’s why our everyday conversations, meetings and presentations are probably full of informal language, jargon and micro-culture we don’t even know we use. It’s the most useful way for us to communicate, because people who share the same culture as we do will understand what we mean. Simple phrases like “top of mind” (or even “across the pond”) that we use in America do not mean the same thing in another culture.
