Just back from DevLearn and still reeling under its effect, I thought it would be the perfect time to share my experience with everyone. DevLearn gave us a perfect chance to celebrate this occasion by giving us a chance to talk with many of our customers at the booth.

Days leading up to Halloween 2014, a conference took place in fabulous Las Vegas called “DevLearn”, the world’s biggest e-learning event produced by the eLearning Guild. . It was also a chance for us to talk to our customers directly and receive direct feedback firsthand.

Tomorrow I’m leaving for the DevLearn conference in Las Vegas. Next week we will find out if our potential customers feel the same. We will do three presentations at DevLearn, a product presentation, a presentation about adaptive (individual) learning (together with our friends of A New Spring) and I will present on Outcome Learning. If you are visiting DevLearn you are more than welcome to these presentations or you can visit us at booth #421.

Well back to another expo conference installment – this time it is DevLearn Day 1. Excluding the obvious authoring tools and some LMS vendors, I found these themes with numerous vendors attending the expo: Remediation – as in our product increases retention better than a LMS. Gamification, badges – as in our product has the big “G” Mobile, including apps – mobile apps who wants one? The product is not yet available.

As always, the eLearning Guild puts on a great show and this year’s DevLearn in San Fran was no exception. Life as a booth babe At the Kineo booth, we were busy on the stand talking about Totara – the new open source LMS for corporates – and showing off some our custom eLearning projects. His slides should be up soon on the DevLearn site. Heading home completely exhausted and in dire need of a foot rub – good signs of all the action there was.

Last week, I attended DevLearn. From products that ranged from the latest versions of RCATs to new vendors in the space, including text to speech. . Not so much, from what I saw – some of the tools were underwhelming (granted some were quite impressive), but rather how the vendors themselves perceived where the market is going and what customers want in their authoring tools.
