Moodle can be a worthwhile system but it requires heavy customization, dedicated IT person who has Moodle skill sets (ideal), in-house support (because when end users can’t figure it out – they will come calling YOU) and costs that many folks fail to realize. You can try to figure out about the product via the company’s web site, but many sites honestly are beyond awful. They fail to even clearly show their product, let alone present the product sans the standard PPT intro that comes with “learn more” about the solution. Right product? 90 minutes.

While their are excellent products out there for event management, such as Cvent, if would save you some $$$ to find a system that offers these capabilities built-in. As for customization, always be a tad concerned. Some systems will do some customization at no additional charge. Customization can be a godsend or a headache.
