Here are five trends that are being seen in the market, but one of these trends can cause consternation, among current customers. So, if you include Facebook like in your LMS, wouldn’t it be logical to assume that people would follow the same approach and mechanism, that they use in the actual real Facebook product? Moodle can be a worthwhile system but it requires heavy customization, dedicated IT person who has Moodle skill sets (ideal), in-house support (because when end users can’t figure it out – they will come calling YOU) and costs that many folks fail to realize. The product supports mobile, which is another plus.

This trend is one of the worst in our industry and while not every vendor does this unscrupulous approach – with the appearance of worldwide dominance (even if they just have a sales office there and no clients), there are enough vendors who do this that it serves as a disservice to potential customers.

Product: Raptivity. Don’t get me wrong, this is a product that offers some really great features, but it constant pitching within the product to upsell, becomes irritating, so much so, I can easily see someone blasting the product into recycle bin space. Before you use the product, you must have Flash 8.0

A good assessment tool will also include a quiz bank, randomization, ability to leave comments if the person got the question right/wrong, perhaps timed questions (although I’m not a fan of these) and if they use the tool as a survey tool – a likert scale).
