Most of it came, via 3rd party providers, or what we referred to as “boutique shops” – think custom development (fee-based) that someone, company, government, institution, and so forth hired to create a course or courses. Instructional design was actually being used. BB dominated. Sure folks.

It can be seen in systems that dub themselves “training management” systems, HCMs that state “training” as a component, authoring tools that describe their product geared towards “training lessons or courses”, etc. Custom Development and LMS vendors. Custom Course Shops.

Q : I am curious on why Cornerstone On Demand, Saba and SumTotal do not appear in your top twenty lists even though they appear on other sites as the best products in the market. Saba - A solid system, but IMO (in my opinion) better suited for talent/performance management. So, back for another installment.

If you are going this route for your customers, trust me, there are far better options. . SaaS authoring tools, well the ones I think are top-tier, are offering more and more templates than ever before, especially for B2B/B2C such as product training for example. It is still a work in progress. . I wish everyone would do that.
