The number one reason people leave their current system or purchase a different e-learning product? Every time I see a product, two statements seem to be universal. If I am a potential customer, I would expect nothing less to come out of the vendor’s mouth on their product and user friendliness. Add a PDF or attachment.

There were about 7 examples mentioned including Intuit using a Wiki-like system for customers to ask questions/get advice around taxes, using a group blog with students prior to a formal learning event, the US Army's use of collaboration tools to share best practices in Iraq, and several others. I also left out many external audiences, e.g., customers, grantees, partners, members, etc. Then, maybe open it up to subject matter experts. Open up editing slowly.

Showed it via a “live customer.” I’ve equally been zapped by products outside our space too. Everything is turned on in your demo, but the vendor fails to mention during its presentation that some of that functionality is not included in the product you are looking at. E-Learning vendors offer training or tell you they have robust training, you find out it is PDF guides with an accompanying video. Assuming all open source is free.
