Learning Pool partners with Catch22 to support London’s youth with the Social Switch Project

We are honored to have partnered with Catch22 to deliver digital employability learning to help disadvantaged inner-city London youths.

For over 200 years, Catch22 has designed and delivered services that build resilience and aspiration in people and communities. Last year alone, they supported 110,000 people from the most underserved communities to lead better lives by championing diversity and guiding people into sustained education and employment.

With funding from the Mayor of London’s office, Catch22 has partnered with us to deploy its Social Switch Project E-learning Hub aimed at helping disadvantaged London youths prepare for the world of work with online employability learning and development.

Hosted on the Learning Pool Platform, the Social Switch Project will enable young adults to build the skills they need to succeed through a modern, youth-orientated learning journey. The next-generation platform is guaranteed to drive engagement among hard-to-reach learners and our mobile app will allow students to take their learning offline and on the go and employs social capabilities, such as chat features and deep scrolling, to resemble most social media platforms.

This, combined with relevant content taken from Learning Pool Library Content that is specific to the learner demographic, will enable Catch22 to deliver a fresh and personalized experience to every user of the Social Switch Project E-learning Hub. Topics include Cyber Security, Life Skills, Digital Leadership and Creativity and Entrepreneurship.

Through City & Guilds, learners will receive a physical certificate of accreditation upon completion of the course, adding credibility to the learning and existing as a formal qualification learners can use to help secure employment later on.

Richard Smith, Operations and Supply Chain Manager at Catch22 said, “We partnered with Learning Pool for a few reasons; firstly we recognized their global reach and high profile customers which gave us confidence that they could produce work for high profile projects such as The Social Switch Project. As well as providing Learning Pool Platform, they’ve also worked closely with us to create two custom modules around Violence Against Women and an Introduction to Coding which are currently in production. We are very happy with the work they’ve created so far. Learning Pool has embraced our company ethos and values – their staff are clearly enthused by projects that help make the world a better place.”

CEO, Ben Betts also commented, “At Learning Pool we are always looking for ways to support our communities; I am constantly amazed by the ideas my team comes up with, and remain extremely proud of the many local and national projects we are involved in. We are honoured to partner with Catch22 to really make a difference in the lives of the young Londoners they support.”
