Closed Captions in Video Demos on Captivate 2019

I am new to Captivate and will be recording many video demos to train users on how to use an internal system.  All recordings must have Closed Captions but have not found a way to do that in Captivate 2019.  I looked for information in the user manual but it was not helpful as it shows information for prior versions of Captivate.  I have also tried the community but most of the information is old so not applicable to 2019.

I viewed Paul Wilson video regarding captions in video demos but my screen does not show the audio file separate from the video file when I click on the video/audio timeline in my video project.  I can save the audio under Audience but there is no way to delete the audio in the video file like in Paul’s video.   The work around (if I could do it as Paul showed) is double the work. Another post mentioned adding text containers to the video, but again a lot of work.  Captivate is great when I need bells and whistles but not for video demos.  I will also need to save as a SCORM package to upload into an LMS.

Any other options or is Captivate not user friendly for Video Demo e-Learning?

Hello Lieve,

Is it possible to put closed captions on you tube video for Captivate 2019 using Interactive video?

Closed Captions are par of the skin, which means they can only exist in cptx-file, not in a Video Demo file which can only be published to MP4.

You can add Closed captions to a video (mp4) inserted in a cptx-fil as synchronized video, Then you publish to HTML5. That means however that you need to upload the published folder to a webserver (or a LMS). It is not just one MP4 file.

Advantage of that workflow is that you can promote your videos to interactive videos, which have overlay content and knowledge check slides. That will greatly improve the learner engagement and the learning efficiency.
