Why does learning content seem so much more exciting on an iPad?

Since DevLearn last week, when it seemed every other person was carrying an iPad, I've been trying to figure out just what it is that tablets offer as a delivery medium for learning which a laptop can't do equally as well. No wonder every tool vendor is rushing to make sure they can output to every tablet device out there, especially the iPad. I'm convinced that the future of e-learning will be on tablet devices.

My favorite writer and Mac fan boy, Andy Ihnatko, has had HIS iPad for a week already and is GUSHING about how AWESOME it is. The iPad is all the awesomesauce of the iPhone in a larger form factor for doing the things I CAN do, but DON'T LIKE to do, on my iPhone. I'm talking about replacing paper sheet music with the iPad. but an iPad will sit nicely on the music stand and be easily readable. It will be fun to put the iPad through its paces and see how we do.
