In the classroom, you have had great success with a teaching approach that involves showing photos on the big screen and building teaching moments by discussing with students the important elements of the image. It lacks that intangible quality of a face-to-face discussion while being able to point to parts of the image.

I have also presented recently at one of Steve Hargardon's live Elluminate global webinars, and have to say that the experience was very similar to the MOOC. You present your ideas, including slides and audio connection, live to a massive group of participants that span the globe, and then you discuss those ideas for a while.

No access to Elluminate. Chat messaging on Elluminate was working OK, but not the best medium for presenting a live talk. I lost Elluminate completely (again). It's a shame that my rant on Edupunk has to end up here as a two-dimensional diatribe, rather than as a round table discussion with a live audience. Waste of time.

The evening Elluminate session for the PLE/PLN online symposium , organised by Stephen Downes, George Siemens and Rita Kop, was a different affair entirely. We have had a corking good time, and it's not over yet.

Adobe® ConnectNow is a great way to share ideas, discuss details, and complete work with others all online. I have used www.dimdim.com before and Elluminate (but this is not open source.)
