For example, my FriendFeed pages show activity from this blog, the Internet Time Blog, my Flickr account, bookmarks I put on Delicious, and my entries from Twitter. MySpace, Comcast, and other players huddled around a conference table in the offices of Six Apart in San Francisco to discuss activity streams.

I’ve seen discussions and blog posts about appropriate use of social tools like Facebook , Twitter , LinkedIn and FriendFeed in the workplace. Parents need to be responsible and discuss appropriate social use of the web with their kids, but do schools bear some responsibility for preparing kids for appropriate social learning ?

In a discussion with a LinkedIn connection, the topic of a quicker way to complete an effective performance analysis came up. My interests in this ongoing discussion about instructional design competencies are both professional and personal. Of course, I cheated and used eLearning Learning to help me come up with these.

Kim Gaskins (Cambridge, Massahusetts: USA) felt that the choice was clear - some of the online discussion groups she had experienced were 'a mess' and Twitter did seem a lot cleaner. As I have done the same thing with my students recently, and also during a workshop in Austria last month, I agree that this is a powerful demonstration.

While I write a couple of public-facing blogs, Internet Time and the Informal Learning Blog , I spend more time participating in group discussions, writing comments, making online presentations, adding descriptions on sites like Flickr, posting to my wiki , and so forth. My blogs show but one of many perspectives of Jay.
