I wanted to follow-up 19 Tips for Effective Online Conferences with some additional resources that relate to this topic. Download file. There is also an interesting effect that people who are not attending still hear quite a bit about the conference and have some level of tangential participation. Is it an educational event?

If you'd like to check out the 3D learning archetypes for yourself, go to Download a Trial Version of ProtonSphere and, once inside, go to the menu item on the top bar on the window called Locations and then select Learning Archetypes and you will be transported to a space where you can check out the learning archetypes in the book.

There have already been s tories of terrorist armies attacking residents in Second Life and of terrorists using these spaces for practice of physical world attacks. Or, more realistically, the laptops are not integrated into the lessons effectively. So the need for hackers is not trivial.

The enviornment, once called Project Entropia (now called Entropia Universe), is free to download and has no monthly fees unlike most MMORPGs. It means we really need to understand these 3D online worlds because it is not just Second Life, many online worlds exist and if we let this technology pass us, then we will be playing catchup.
