You could count on your hand the number of vendors even looking at it, and I’m not just talking LMSs/Learning Portals, but content authoring tools and other products. A couple of rapid content authoring tool vendors are incorporating HTML5 features in their tool, which can be used on tablets, and of course the iPad.

The number one reason people leave their current system or purchase a different e-learning product? Authoring tools whose interface either looks like to was written in 1997 (thus outdated) or is so confusing, that the premise of rapid, just is not possible. Every time I see a product, two statements seem to be universal.

The product continues to add new features that overall are surprisingly solid. However, they continue to incorporate some instructor led training components, which is a disservice to an otherwise nice product. E-mail specific slides to subject matter experts for review. Product: Liquid Authoring. Liquid Authoring, a new rapid content authoring tool from Landmark ASP, tries to bring together easy to use functionality with advanced capabilities. Media Library upload is fast, but I’m running at 20Mbps for upload, the only time it was somewhat slow was when uploading a PDF file. Bottom Line.
