E-Learning Screen recording and video solutions – Should b simple, so why isn’t it?

There are dozens of free audio plugins available on the net, so why aren’t screen capturing/recording vendors offering the ability for the end user to add them? There is something wrong when a free and open source product like Audacity can do it, yet a product that costs hundreds of dollars cannot. That’s fine.

Halftime! LMS trends though July

I have seen systems on consumers’ servers have bandwidth problems especially if they do not have load backing. When you need a fix, then the LMS vendor must work with you either remote to solve it or if it is big nasty fix, go on site. Even one time open source systems are starting to offer hosting for an additional cost.

Product Review: Totara

Unless their is some group component here or the psuedo Facebook angle, I see no real gain. I know Totara is going to say that the product is built on open source and the folks who are buying it know the technical aspects/Moodle and thus this isn’t an issue. The A/V is Clam (open source) but still solid. .

But the real WOWSA is in the social learning component. One of the biggest problems I always saw in the products was the back end, i.e. what the administrator sees and has to use. No problem. Facebook integration – enables users to publish content from OmniSocial right into Facebook – Clever!
