Mobile Learning. LMSs – Finally vendors took notice. Sadly though many still are in the dark on true mobile learning – i.e. not accessing their platform via a mobile web browser. Authoring Tools – With only a small sample of vendors that are SaaS based, pickings are slim. Increase in number of vendors.

Unfortunately, too many vendors in the e-learning space have failed to see the power and potential of this capability, and have decided to ignore them. Twitter has APIs, so does Facebook, even Linkedin. However there are vendors who sell their API solution wrapped in a piece of software. Typically APIs are free.

Combination of synchronous and asynchronous features. Most systems in the education space are still strongly focused on synchronous based learning. SaaS – I would prefer a vendor who offers SaaS only and not a SaaS or client hosted or G-D forbid client hosted only option. Facebook and Twitter integration.

The timeline enables you to move around the slides and synchronize them to whatever you have added. Under Synchronization. Maybe send link to Linkedin or Twitter or Facebook or whatever. On the side toolbar: Add/edit slides. Add/edit media. Add/edit tests. Record Voiceover. In my case I added some an audio file. Play and Synch.

A LMS that came with a e-commerce, a chat room, discussion boards, front end look that did not appear to a be a LMS, library, bookstore (capability), art gallery (I used it for sponsorship purposes). The vendor? GeoLearning. What happened? What about the academic or education possibilities? What about corporate?
