Authoring Tool Market – What I am seeing

Because the industry as a whole is a lemming, I expect more vendors to come on board. HTML5 output. Right now I am doing a survey on authoring tools (more on this at the end of the post) and so far 100% of all respondents state that HTML5 output is required in an authoring tool. HTML5 templates. Not anymore.

The Latest: Rapid Content Authoring Tool Market

I am still surprised on how vendors who are offering assessment only tools are staying in the game. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. Flash output – still red hot. Flash isn’t going anywhere, except maybe the route of leaded gasoline.

Articulate, Captivate and Lectora – Do they deserve your praise?

I’ve always found this product to be the top of the line for PowerPoint to Flash course builds. It is easy to use and once you learn it, easy to push out content. But, from an e-learning developer standpoint, the thought of using a template is the same as painting with numbers. Articulate. Adobe Captivate.
