Samsung Galaxy S is expected to be the first real challenger to the iPad, it runs on Android OS, offers Flash 10.1 launches on Verizon on November 11th, has features including camera, web cam, etc. Again, the iPad runs only with HTML5, not Flash 10.1. But, the reason I constantly bash this into e-learning vendors heads is this just DON’T GET IT. HTML5 will be available on every one of those tablets, plus they will offer Flash (notable exception the iPad). Oh, yeah, social learning. LMS vendors who are moving into the Talent Management Space.

Simply put, one vendor has over 200 Flash-based templates in their product. Another vendor I spoke with, is offering 80 templates. Other vendors are falling suit. It is the only e-learning solution that I know of, that offers it. HTML5: Must be a Fad. I believe that is going to change.

Interestingly, a large portion of LMS vendors have not optimized their products for the iPad/ iPad2 and with the exception of two content authoring tools, HTML5 capabilities, specifically the ability to output a course in HTML5 does not yet exist. I know I would.

Can output to MP4 or Flash, I loved the MP4. It can be embed into your web site, added to your LMS, but to me the real awesomeness is the ability to add into any authoring tool. Please note they do not yet support HTML5, but again with MP4 no worries – it can be seen on any tablet, including iPad. TOUCHDOWN.
