I have a real issue with vendors who charge extra – via a license with their “partner&# or otherwise for a web conferencing – and thus ability to offer webinars, in their solution. It should be free – 100%. Hence: Below are products that are either open source free or free or free with limited functionality.

No free sandwiches, let along box lunches to attendees in the expo on day one. For the price of $1,500 or so to attend (non-member), and even near 1K to attend as a member, at least provide something, rather then free ice cream at 3 p.m. For PPT lovers, you can synch video files with PPT with drag and drop.

The new iSpring Pro 7 – currently in beta adds additional powerhouse features, including PPT to HTML5 output (which right now is a standalone product). #8 While their Slideshark app for the iPad is nifty, it is not the only product that showcases PPT and is free. Yeah it is another PPT spin product but does stand out. #5

iSpring Pro but it only converts PPT to HTML5. E-Learning Vendors and Apps. Latest projections indicate that nearly 90% are free apps. E-Learning Apps. Offering the e-commerce model just isn’t happening, but it should. LMS vendor provides you with their system for free.

PowerPoint – Ability to integrate or use PPT in your courses. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. People like free. A couple of vendors are offering this as a feature. I hope it does – especially with SaaS products. It isn’t.

LMS/LCMS vendors love to tell you who there clients are or better yet show you a list of clients, without really stating if they still use them. Can be very confusing, but again in its very basic term – free or fee based services, products or solutions available only online and hosted by a vendor. E-Learning 24/7.

Innovation abounded and the push to focus on the “PPT to Flash&# angle continued to shine. Yeah and did I mention it was free and you can get the code, ideal if you are building courses for someone other than your own company? iPod, mobile phones, YouTube, message boards, e-mail. Game Changer! LMS, web, CD, etc.,
