I understand that some government entities and financial and a few others who are worried about security and blah, blah want it on their own servers. Security is quite strong for SaaS systems. Some systems now clearly state their security level, AES 256 bit for example, so if you are that concerned ask them. Web sites yes.

I wonder if we have truly achieved this premise, i.e. learning without borders or are we stating something that is not yet accurate? Go onto any social media site: Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Quora or any of the thousands of sites, and you will see people engaging with total strangers. Social Engagement.

But, the reason I constantly bash this into e-learning vendors heads is they just DON’T GET IT. It’s on the web in their safe and secure LMS and in their locker/desk. Tablets there.tablets there.tablets everywhere. Yes, I love consumer slate tablets. Yes, I own one. No, I do not own shares.

We can all expect advances in next generation devices and capabilities from Apple, Google/Android, RIM/BlackBerry, Microsoft, Palm, Nokia and others.
