In the webinar, I brought up how LMS vendors were themselves perpetuating the myth of the bad things of social media (which is a necessary component of social learning), so, rather than identify the facts and data to potential clients who are concerned about social media and thus social learning, they instead do not include it in their system.

Folding up shop and switching to a new market: Talent/Performance Management, new product lines not tied to e-learning, services. Social Learning Stagnation.

Student, Teacher and Parent portals – It goes without saying on the student and teacher portals. As such, do folks really want parents to have their own portal? If you as the customer want to create your own API/Mashup or find one on the net and want to integrate it into your paid LMS, the vendor will charge you. In some cases, I have seen fees as high as 3K per integration. Why the extra fee for a vendor to integrate it into their system. Mobile Learning and Tablets.
