My issue is important and your tech people have not responded. As someone who has had the wonderful experience of buying (leasing) a LMS and the issues that arose beyond that, I can tell you that I feel your pain. I remember seeing some pricing online by a LMS vendor and then when I got the contract it had different pricing on it.

It was an exciting first day, with lots of vendors hitting the entire training spectrum. Here are my favorites: Numerous vendors were unhappy that they had to pay $700 a day for Wi-Fi, that didn’t work most of the time or was slow. One vendor who spent $5,000 on their booth, thought the $700 a day fee was obscene and declined.

With systems it comes in many flavors – with the most common being a ticket issue system that is tied into the end user side. 1%, the pr you see, seems to indicate a massive upheaval in the M&A angle, especially in the learning system space. . Yet one of the items that is never mentioned are the customers and employees of the vendor who has been acquired. Some vendors will be flexible with you, and allow you to leave if you so desire, others less so.

The minus: vendors come out of the woodwork to tell you their system meets those needs. I mean if you say you need “e-commerce for 500 users, certificates, ability to add users to groups for courses”, that would cover about 550 systems. Write vendors’ names on pencils and throw them at the ceiling.

Kinect + Kinect = Immersion E-Learning. The biggest issue when it comes to e-learning are the courses. That said, I have found some minor issues. Seems like a no-brainer to me, with the exception I can see with phone calls – but then again, some vendors offer the ability to add Skype to their system.

As I have noted numerous times, if you listen to vendors, everyone loves their system, they have retention rates in the plus 90%, yet, somehow the number one thing they hear is that people are looking for a new system, they are unhappy with their current system. Example: you want a three year deal, the vendor tells you seven is better.
