My latest take on those three vendors (plus one) are: Cornerstone On Demand – I have seen the new UI and I like what I saw. The problem though is it is not throughout the entire system, rather it is in a few areas. That said, they are in my top 40 for learning/extended enterprise cloud. Lots of potential. Waste of money.

The best system for the education market is Moodle. Moodle can be a worthwhile system but it requires heavy customization, dedicated IT person who has Moodle skill sets (ideal), in-house support (because when end users can’t figure it out – they will come calling YOU) and costs that many folks fail to realize.
