It was the savior to mobile learning. Now, you can do all these amazing things, but it’s real strength was for collaborative learning. Social learning. Add to the learning experience. At least one tablet vendor is launching a 3D version, although you have to wear glasses. At one point, Microsoft was strongly against anyone hacking their Kinect device. Nice selection of vendors – in general. More goodies then in the past, but the vendor with the awesome monkeys – it was nearly impossible to get one – you had a better chance of allowing them to stick leeches on you, then getting one – what’s the point of marketing – if the product you want to show – yours – isn’t walking the floor with folks. Less vendors scanning people’s ID badges, which I found interesting.

Back in the day, a punk rock group called Madness released a wonderful tune called, “ One Step Beyond “, sadily if you were to look at the state of the e-learning industry as a whole today, perhaps the song should have been called, “One Step Behind&#. That said, why is this happening: A significant (over 90%) of vendors are holding off this year and at least part of next year from optimizing their solution to the iPad.
