Innovation abounded and the push to focus on the “PPT to Flash&# angle continued to shine. Open Source Product of the Year (i.e. iPod, mobile phones, YouTube, message boards, e-mail. Import and convert PPT to the web, add rich media. Some acquisitions, some goodbyes, but overall very strong. Game Changer!

PowerPoint – Ability to integrate or use PPT in your courses. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. A couple of vendors are offering this as a feature. More vendors seem interested in PPT, then having this as a spec in their product.

Equally of interest, are the increase in open source systems that offer for a fee, hosting on their own servers, rather than on yours. I still believe this will be a winner in 2012, and that more vendors will jump into this space. Open Source Systems. Prediction. Huge explosion in SaaS based only systems.
