I’m not a lead gen for the vendors listed – rather the goal is to provide you with vendors that meet numerous criteria including UI, features, support/service, mobile, feedback from current and past clients and future game plans.

Nice selection of vendors – in general. More vendors showing off their products then in the past – still a couple believe that a poster board will do the trick. Wi-Fi worked a lot better, but vendors and end users still had issues inside the expo hall. I heard this happen to two vendors.

I have a real issue with vendors who charge extra – via a license with their “partner&# or otherwise for a web conferencing – and thus ability to offer webinars, in their solution. tv - free up to 24 users, limited features in the freebie version, other options available but are fee based. I am still surprised on how vendors who are offering assessment only tools are staying in the game. PowerPoint – Ability to integrate or use PPT in your courses. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. Vendor adoption is slow. It isn’t.

That said, there were some hiccups and from an entire vendor wise (expo here) angle, some unique and some, uh. Okay, before jumping in, I want to thank all those who attended my session, E-Learning 2020. . This year, I estimated a 55/60% e-learning, including some ILT vendors offering some type of e-learning component. .

There is a growing list of vendors, including small/mid size that are adding talent management components that match the Big Dog systems. A couple of vendors have added HRIS modules. It is interesting to note, that many of the vendors are targeting the SMB space, especially the small size (less than 500 employees) market.

For whatever reason- okay to try to set themselves apart – some vendors have created the term “training management” Honestly, they could call it “online authoring system with a few reports and no frills” and it would be the same thing. Yeah, you can upload word docs, PPT, etc.
