Mass customizations – You want the LMS but it requires major customization beyond what they provide to their customers at no charge (as part of their service), again realistic to get an estimate. If you want to track in a learning management system or learning platform that supports SCORM then you want it. If your goal is just to post the course on a server and let people access it, just for the sake of learning and you don’t care about tracking of any sort – then no, you do not need any compliance standard.

I had thought that this trend would be dying out, but it is amazing at the number of vendors who are entering the space and still focused on the desktop approach. 2010, there was only a tiny few vendors who offered online collaborative and peer review features.
