devlearn e-Learning EasyGenerator eLearning guildI will (try to) blog about the conference every day. I arrived yesterday evening 18.30 local time after a 20 hour trip. The conference is in the Aria and we stay there too. It’s an incredible hotel/casino. I believe it has over 4000 rooms, countless restaurants and bars and it is huge. But most of all it is luxurious. It’s really incredible. It’s not just over the top, but way beyond that.

This was my second Guild conference (been to Learning Solutions in March) and one thing that really struck me at both conferences is the atmosphere. Both guild conferences have the feeling of a gathering of peers. For easygenerator it was an important conference too. At Guild conferences you have so-called Morning buzz sessions, they start at 07.15. Then it was time for the opening and the keynote by Michio Kaku, I had really high expectations because the keynotes I attended at the guild conference in Orlando where of an exceptional high level. After the keynote the expo opened and we where flooded by people who wanted to know more about easygenerator. We got great responses and great interest in easygenerator.

We finished easygenerator version 8 last week and we believe that we now have a unique authoring environment that really stands out from our competitors. This morning I registered for the conference and I got to meet some people from the guild that I worked with over the past few months, but never met in real live. He is the Managing Editor of the Learning Solutions e-Magazine at the eLearning Guild. I saw his concept and he does say very nice things about easygenerator. easygenerator separates content from presentation in a way that facilitates re-use and supports localization and translation to other languages.”

Since three years LINGOs and the ELearning Guild organize the ‘ Global give back competition ‘ where e-Learning companies create courses (for free) and make them available to the ngo’s. The best courses win an award at the Guild conference. Easygenerator will support LINGOs by making our authoring platform available to LINGOs and their partners and to all e-Learning companies that want to take part in the global give back competition.

Easygenerator will be present at the DevLearn conference in Las Vegas. Last year we had the official launch of easygenerator in the USA at DevLearn, this year we will officially launch our free edition at Devlearn. We are looking forward to this event a lot.

In Berlin I met with Christopher Benz (he is in charge of online events of the ELearning guild) and we spoke about the differences of an eLearning guild conference (like Learning Solutions and DevLearn) and the online Educa. We decided that the biggest difference is that the guild is a community of learning professionals. I’m now in the Ukraine with our development team, working on next years road map for easygenerator.
