Milestones

As 2022 heads out the door and we can see 2023 warming up in the next room, talk and blogging is looking forward to the New Year and the ubiquitous resolutions people make.

The last time I made a New Year’s resolution (NYR) was, maybe twenty years ago, I can’t remember what it was, but I think I lasted a few days before I’d forgotten about it or broke it or just plain ignored it.

I am not a NYR person – if it’s not something I genuinely believe in or want, then it will not mean anything to me, and I will not succeed.

I prefer to set some meaningful and obtainable milestones, and these don’t have to be limited to the next 12 months – a couple of short-term, a couple of medium and maybe one or two long-term milestones I can (realistically) work towards.

“So what are they then?” I hear someone at the back shout out. At the moment, I have no idea. At the moment I’m head down and getting used to my new role as Head of Learning Experience, new colleagues and new processes to get used to, a massive amount of change already in the first five weeks of the new job, and the huge scope of where we can take Edvanza and Global University Systems (GUS) in this changing EdTech environment.

Good. Innit!!
