Business Need

The client is in the field of delivering leadership training programs utilized by businesses worldwide to create leaders and produce outcomes. Due to modern technologies taking over and more and more millennials joining the workplace, it became essential for the client to revamp its existing curriculum of twelve leadership courses. This group of crucial leadership training served as their flagship product. It was also one of their significant sources of income apart from revenue generated from Instructor-led training (ILTs) and the sale of print course materials. The existing curriculum’s content was found to be outmoded with lesser/no focus on new age competencies and failed to grab and hold the attention span, learner’s engagement, and interactive levels. Due to the outdated leadership curriculum, the client saw a visible fall in their sales. Hence, the objective was to revitalize the leadership curriculum to appeal to and fulfill the development needs of a new generation of leaders; those identified within their target audiences’ demographic attend either instructor-led classes, blended learning courses, or complete online training courses.

KS Solution

KS Business Analysts and Subject Matter Experts conducted thorough market research on the industry landscape and competitive analysis through analysis of the current content, focused group meetings, and a review of contemporary management research to understand the client’s needs, target audience, competitors, product positioning, and future prospects. Post the research and analysis; KS submitted a curriculum strategy along with existing content gap analysis to establish industry-recognized competencies, design elements that are relevant, engaging, and relatable, leverage responsive technology, far greater instructional quality of the materials, new assessments and analytics, and the integration of post-training activities to position the product and stand out from competitors. The Curriculum Strategy identified a blended curriculum with four major areas of improvement: content and structure, course features, delivery methods, and reinforcement to substantially increase the engagement, relevance, and retention of the leadership courses and differentiate them from the competition.

  1. Course content and structure redesign:

KS provided the updated course content and structure redesign, which included enhancing the underlying models and providing a course map, incorporating competencies, strengthening the course objectives and skill points, reconfiguring the course structure, leveraging the responsive design, and creating a refreshed course design.

  • Benefits

The redesign and redevelopment of courses improved engagement and interactivity levels, especially among “millennial” workers. Incorporating unique course features and elements, such as microlearning modules, videos, interactive PDFs, etc., ensured transferring the leadership principle and skills back on-the-job. In addition, post- training exercises like prompt, unfiltered feedback allowed for quick corrections and changes, maintaining vigilance in training and preventing the possibility of it losing relevance in the future.

Students have got a truly responsive experience with various touchpoints during their academic journey.

The university is expanding its wings in different countries and enrolling more students in their proven programs as dependence on brick-and-mortar campus is no more a consideration.

    Outcomes

    • The Client’s partner sales increased by 8–10% annually.
    • Signups from new corporate clients increased by 3x.
    • Curriculum adaption time for unique client demands decreased by 78%.
    • The adaptation of new product lines, including Digital workbooks and Reinforcement aids, abolished the need for printing, warehousing, and shipping and enabled the delivery of more effective training with a lower carbon footprint.
