I thought I'd kick off this year by posting a series of posts on topics related to tools and methods for work and learning. What are the most important methods to adopt in addition to the tools? Tools to Make Reading & Research More Effective. First, let me say that we all have a tool set and a set of methods and frameworks that go along with that tool set. The same tool and method can be highly effective for one person and not effective for others.

When I look at this from more the PWLE ( Personal WORK and learning environment ) perspective, I find that there are similar functions, but possibly a different mind set. And certainly the effect of the network of PLEs is similar to the search for individuals that I describe.

Learned about Learning in 2009

When I look at my particular skills, methods and tools for 2009 and compare them to 2008, I would say that it’s mostly a question of degree of use and certainly my use of Twitter has grown. Each of these allowed me to fast forward my learning and share knowledge effectively. I realized that a lot of the networking that I had done in person in the past could move online and actually be a much more effective use of time.
