So, help on effective all-in low cost LMS solutions would be good. I received an inquiry about the need for a low cost LMS solution and I've not had time to help this person with answers. I'm hoping folks can chime in with suggestions and resources. I'll try to aggregate them together. Situation description: I have talked to several vendors and have received quotes at the 6-8k (per year) range for the licensing.

When you look back at 2000-2002, companies getting VC funding were folks like Outstart, Hyperwave, Infocast, Element K, Pathlore, Vuepoint, Knowledge Impact. What's interesting though is how many of these "smaller" opportunities have the ability through network effects to grow very large. I'm not sure if other people are seeing this, but based on a bunch of conversations and calls, it appears that there is a wave of new startups being created right now and the trend is accelerating.
