But when I run Preview or open the live version there are issues. And when I look at the slide in the published version it is different again. This effects nearly every slide in the project. I am considering building a new course from scratch at the moment to see if that resolves it, but a quicker solution would be better.

If you want to publish a project to be accessible from any device, you have to ignore the still available Captivate SWF output! I see the result as a solution between the Scalable HTML projects (same layout on all screens) and a esponsive project developed with Breakpoint views. Overview Workflows. Only HTML5 output can be used.

I think it’s a perfect example of how you can use PowerPoint to build effective and engaging elearning courses. While there are some things that still bug me a little, I do find it much more intuitive and I actually prefer it over the previous versions. You can create design themes built around colors, fonts, and format effects.

With the end of life of swf and more browsers locking out swf files, I have been forced to find a solution a little quicker than anticipated after our IT department made a change earlier than expected. I recreated the animation in after effects and photoshop and created a gif that works wonderfully in my test environment.

Republishing is a good option if you have legacy Flash eLearning content that was developed in an older version of an authoring tool. Simply republish the course using the latest version of the authoring tool. These courses won’t have the desired effect on learning and business outcomes. Be sure to back these up!
