That's multitasking! One interesting result is that the audience for my eLearning 2.0 Social Bookmarking and Wikis and Blogs are a form of social networking I never said this, but several people pointed it out in the chat. The same thing can be true with social bookmarking, wikis, flickr, etc.

You could usually rely on a fully attentive audience face-to-face while bemoaning the ease with which multitasking occurs online.
