DevLearn Student Docent Program

If you are a student in an instructional technology or design program, consider heading to DevLearn this month. The students at Bloomsburg University’s department of instructional technology bought hotel and airline tickets today and we are ready to go…

So what is the DevLearn Student program?…I’m glad you asked.

The program is basically a guided tour of the entire conference lead by myself with special surprise appearances by several folks in the industry.

Bloomsburg Students meeting author, consultant and industry expert Marc Rosenberg.

Bloomsburg Students meeting author, consultant and industry expert Marc Rosenberg at a conference.

The first day of the conference, we’ll start bright and early with a Morning Buzz session which is a gathering and informal conversation centered around a specific topic. We’ll talk about the upcoming day, what awesome sessions to attend and where to meet for lunch and conference tours.

During lunch on Wednesday and Thursday, the conference will be holding student-exclusive sessions that target topics that are of special interest to those entering this field.

How do I get that Job? – In this session we’ll look at actual job descriptions from the eLearning Guild Job Board and explore how best to position yourself as a candidate for the role.

What I learned AFTER collegee – In this session thought leaders from the field will share stories of their personal career journey, exploring “If I knew then what I know now”.

Students will have reserved seats for the awesome keynote addresses and will gain front row access to my session titled “Matching the Right Learning Content with the Right Learning Strategy” which will be Wednesday at 2:45 PM – 3:45 PM. You can read more about it here.

And students can attend DemoFest and explore over 80 learning and development projects, speaking to the developers that created them and learning from their experiences.

Or students can present at DemoFest. Bloomsburg students will be sharing their own projects at DemoFest as exhibitors.

If you or a fellow student want to join the fun you can set up a table which has been reserved at DemoFest for student projects. It’s a great opportunity to get feedback and suggestions on your own student projects.

So I really hope to see you at DevLearn, it’s going to be a blast.
